Tim Bullock
Chairman

Tim spent 26 years in banking and finance with 14 years as a Managing Director with Lloyds Bank Group. Since 2005 Tim has pursued his private business interests, co-founding New Wave Ventures in 2010. Tim serves as chairman or director of a number of portfolio companies.

Dr. Hugh Malkin
CEO

has a PhD in Chemistry and broad academic and business experience. Working in drug discovery research before moving into business development and senior management positions, Hugh has in-depth knowledge of Pharmaceutical and Life-Science research along with product development from concept to market, and business growth.
Hugh has successfully identified market needs and setup and managed companies to deliver products and solutions for these.

Nick Williams
non-exec CFO

Nick is Chief Financial Officer of Study Group, the private-equity backed leading provider of international education. He began his career at KPMG, and prior to joining Study Group he was finance leader for a number of growing, international businesses. Most recently he was CFO of JacTravel, the global B2B travel provider. Previous businesses included Masternaut, Truflo International and Biocompatibles. Nick has a BA (Hons) in History from the University of Exeter, and is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales. Nick is married and lives in London and West Sussex.

Dr. Ian George
non-exec CSO

Dr Ian George has 25 years industry experience with companies such as Unilever, TTP, DSTL & Enigma Diagnostics which he co-founded in 2004. He joined New Wave Ventures in 2013 and serves as a director on a number of portfolio companies. Ian is CEO of Xerion Healthcare & vice-chair of Cancer Research UK Pioneer Award.

Clive Hopewell
non-exec director

A specialist in corporate finance work and is Head of Capital Markets at international law firm, Bird & Bird LLP. Clive specialises in international fundraisings and mergers and acquisitions, both public and private.

Clive spent some time in the Equity Markets Group of the London Stock Exchange and his securities practice involves acting for institutions and issuers in respect of listings in London and elsewhere. Clive is well known in the industry and is author of the legal chapter in the latest London Stock Exchange “Guide to AIM”.

Dr. Omar Kamal
non-exec director

has a PhD in Management (Finance & Banking) and 20 plus years experience within financial services domain. Has co-led a major business group with a global span. Prior to that, acted as CIO of a Middle East bank and also an advisory ‘Partner’ with Ernst & Young. Omar has served on the board (including Chairmanship) of more than 10 companies including a FTSE 250 company, and is currently serving as an Independent Board member of the Arab Bank, and Tharisa Plc, a dual listed (London & Johannesburg) mining company.

Omar has leveraged his experience into high growth companies within Fintech, Regtech, Scientific Innovation, and E-commerce, some of which are amongst UK’s fastest growing “late- stage growth” businesses.
